Keeping Awake

My mind is drifting
My eyes are near shutting
I'm yawning away
Getting bored and restless

I'm trying hard to keep awake
And pretend to stay interested
The lecturer isn't helping much
That's why I resorted to writing this poem

I'm slightly more awake now
Feeling better than before
So I'll keep on writing
To keep awake a while more
